A Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 compilation would have been considered, then abandoned

It was not yet the year 2000 and the name of Tony Hawk was beginning to invade our consoles in a skateboard game, signed Neversoft, which marked a whole generation of players. Nervous gameplay, frenzied music, environments to explore thanks to crazy tricks: the legend was born. It was then with some enthusiasm that the compilation Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 had been welcomed in 2020, nostalgia having succeeded in its work. However, if we are to believe some revelations, a sequel is far from on the agenda…

We learn in this video clip from the Twitch AndyTHPS channel and from the mouth of Tony Hawk that a compilation bringing together the third and fourth episodes was on the way but that everything was suddenly stopped. A release date would have even been communicated to the skatepark star before the project experienced a number of setbacks, mainly because of Vicarious Visions developer priorities that had changed. The latter, in fact, have been transferred from the bosom of Activision to that of Blizzard, leading them to deal with other subjects. Unfortunately, it is clear that no other studio has taken up the torch and that this title is no longer on the shelves.

Too bad for the fans who will have to be content with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 still present on the Microsoft Store. Can we still hope for a return of the falcon on this generation of consoles? Nothing is less sure…
