Critics haven’t been exactly kind to Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets, the third installment of the Harry Potter spin-off, which hit theaters last April. However, those who want to try it will have the opportunity to do so very soon on HBO Max. Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that the film will be available on the platform on May 30.
Warner also announced the launch of rental via Premium Video On Demand (PVOD) and purchase via Premium Electronic Sell-through (PEST), also from the same date. Rental will be available for an RRP of 12.99 euros, while viewers can purchase the film for 16.99 on Apple TV, Rakuten TV, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, Vodafone, Movistar+, Orange TV, YouTube and Microsoft.
A war about to break out
Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) is aware that Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) is plotting to dominate the wizarding world and the muggle world. After his arrest, he begins a political campaign to become the new Minister of Magic. Knowing what his success may mean, Dumbledore teams up with magizoologist Newt Scamander and his friends to try to stop him.
Although Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets did not enjoy the same box office success as its predecessors, the new CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav, intends to strengthen his attachment to the Harry Potter brand. This was revealed by The Wall Street Journal, which claims to want to bring the saga to HBO Max. In the coming weeks, he will meet JK Rowling, the author of the novels.
