Genshin Impact for Nintendo Switch continues development

Several years have passed since the release of Genshin Impact, the free-to-play role-playing game (free but with microtransactions) developed by the Chinese studio miHoYo. Although the title was announced for Nintendo Switch some time ago, the developer has kept dead silence on this release. Nothing is known about its possible release date, to the point that some had speculated that the game could have been cancelled. That doesn’t seem to be the case, since GO Nintendo released it as an exclusive.

Xin Yang, communication manager at miHoYo, assured that the Nintendo Switch version will continue. Also, he hinted that there will be more information in the future. “The Switch version is still in development, we will share more information as we progress,” he said.

The good news is that the game hasn’t been canceled, the bad news is that the studio hasn’t provided any additional information. The truth is, fans’ worries were justified to some extent. miHoYo himself removed any mention of the Switch version from YouTube descriptions, although it was added back later.

Update 2.7 is delayed

The delay of version 2.7 caused miHoYo to perform several events that were not initially planned, as we published on Netcost. In a public message on social networks, the Chinese company argued that “for reasons related to the current progress of the project”, the next patch is postponed until further notice. “We are sorry for the inconvenience. We appreciate your continued support and understanding.

Genshin Impact is currently available on PS4, PS5, PC, and iOS and Android mobile devices. At the moment, the only announced version that has not gone on sale is the Nintendo Switch version, as it will not be released on Xbox One or Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, barring last minute surprises.
