Hurry to see this cult Johnny Depp film that will be removed from the Netflix catalog

Hurry, you have until June 30 to see one of Johnny Depp’s best films.

This cult Johnny Depp film is leaving Netflix

It goes away and it comes back. The Netflix catalog is evolving and some films are leaving the platform while others are entering. June is coming to an end, and with it, one of Johnny Depp’s greatest films will soon no longer be available on Netflix.

So you have until June 30 to see, or review, Public Enemies. Released in 2009, this film by Michael Mann is considered a quasi-masterpiece highlighting one of Johnny Depp’s best performances as the robber Dillinger alongside Christian Bale playing the lawyer Melvin Purvis.

Public Enemies, a masterpiece?

Based on the true story of John Dillinger, the outstanding bank robber who plagued America in the 1930s, Public Enemies illustrates the relentless hunt of one of the best federal agents in the country against “public enemy number 1”. Johnny Depp seemed cut out for this role, as the director indicated in an interview with AlloCiné when the film was released: At the time of the film’s release, the director had declared according to AlloCiné that Johnny Depp shared a lot of points in common with his character:

“When we started talking about Public Enemies, he revealed to me that he had a long-standing interest in Dillinger and that Dillinger reminded him of some characters from his past. I felt there was something Dillinger in him”.

Marion Cotillard and Johnny Depp duo

If Johnny Depp’s performance is so striking, it is also partly thanks to the magnetic couple he forms with French actress Marion Cotillard in the role of Billie Frechette, his companion. After turning in Big Fish by Tim Burton, this is the second major English-speaking role of his career.
