Kirby 64 debuts on Nintendo Switch Online with a big bug

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers can now access Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, one of Kyoto’s 64-bit machine classics. A few days after its release, some users have already reported a major bug that forces players to restart the level. According to dataminer MondoMega, this bug is unlikely to be present on the original hardware.

The bug occurs in aquatic phases, when receiving damage under certain circumstances. Suddenly, Kirby becomes paralyzed and it is impossible to react and make the slightest movement. Thus, the only option to resume the game is to restart the level, at least until Nintendo offers a solution.

Nintendo 64 emulation on Nintendo Switch Online has not been without its problems. Since the release of the first games, there have been errors of all kinds, both graphical and sound, as well as annoying bugs. One of the most notorious was undoubtedly the water textures of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, already corrected.
