Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is now available. The reception from the press and the public is excellent and Dotemu signs a new title of high quality. After Streets of Rage IV, the developer therefore asserts itself as one of the masters of old-fashioned Beat’em up. However unlike SoR IV, it seems that there are no plans for the release of a DLC. For now at least!
On Twitter, Cyrille Imbert was clear. In reaction to an article from IGN which mentioned the absence of DLC to come, the CEO of Dotemu confirmed the information. No DLC is in development to date and there are currently no plans to develop one. However, that doesn’t mean the studio won’t.
Indeed, the man quickly clarified that he should not “never say never” and that everything will depend on the community. According to the reception of the game and according to “ideas and feedback” players, an extension could see the light of day. In other words, if there is a playful and commercial interest, then a DLC would be possible.
This finally follows the logic that had been followed for Streets Of Rage IV. The game had inherited a DLC almost a year after its release with a new character and new game modes. Will players mobilize to discover new heroes? to claim an untold story? In any case we could easily imagine a story around Master Splinter or the arrival of a new enemy to justify an additional scenario.
The finish will tell us what Dotemu decides. But from here, it looks like both sales and feedback are great. So there is no excuse for letting the turtles burrow further into the sewers.
Some clarification here: There won’t be alternative costumes at launch and we don’t have DLC plans so far, but we never said “never”😉 It will depend on many factors like the game’s reception and the ideas/feedback that the awesome community will send us. https://t.co/l51aqNmYKI
