The final trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder left us with truly epic moments like the presentation of Christian Bale as Gorr the Butcher of the Gods or a very powerful Jane Foster as Mighty Thor. Although many remember one of the comedic moments that Marvel Studios has accustomed us to with Chris Hemsworth’s full nude (with blurring included), when Thor appears to be on some sort of trial before Zeus, played by Russell Crowe. Now the film’s director, Taika Waititi, has explained why they decided to show Hemsworth naked.
“It would be a waste not to show it”
This was revealed by the filmmaker himself, Taika Waititi, in a recent interview with Comicbook media: “We all knew we wanted to do this from the start. In fact, it was in the first draft of the script and Chris was there as well. You know, I think if you have a body like Chris Hemsworth, you know, even he understands that. It would be fair, it would be a waste not to show it,” Waititi says.
The director ends his justification in his usual humorous tone: “It would be a crime against humanity not to do so. So, you know, you have to cater to the needs of the masses,” Waititi concludes. And it is that as we have already been able to verify during the filming, Chris Hemsworth has achieved his best form of his career at the level of bodybuilding, achieving a truly imposing physical appearance for Thor: Love and Thunder.
It remains to be seen whether Hemsworth’s blurry buttocks will continue to appear in the final film as seen in the trailer or, on the contrary, if it will be shown in all its glory. We can check it on July 8, 2022 in cinemas.
