THE Xiaomi wrote “Strategic Partnership in Imaging Technology”. According to reports, the company will officially launch this device in July this year. This is not the first time Leica has cooperated with a smartphone brand. Recall that Leica already has a strategic partnership with Sharp, Huawei and Panasonic. taking the Huawei as an example, your camera is significantly better after your cooperation with Leica. Huawei smartphones remain at the top of the DxOMark rating for many months.
whereas the Xiaomi also reached the top of the DxOMark ranking with the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, its cooperation with Leica should improve its camera specs. As of now, there is no official information from Xiaomi in regards to what Leica will bring to the table. Furthermore, the company also did not reveal the specs of the upcoming flagship smartphone.
Xiaomi & Leica what to expect from this partnership?
As of now, we can only make guesses regarding this smartphone. The first will be for the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. This is Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor and many Android brands are prepared to use this chip.
The new flagship platform, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, achieves dual advances in energy efficiency and performance. According to reports, this chip comes with significant changes in six aspects. This time, the company uses TSMC’s 4nm process in the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 uses the 4nm process from Samsung. However, the latest one still uses an eight-core architecture including 1 Cortex X2 super core + 3 A710 large cores + 4 A510 small cores.
Officially, your performance improves by 10%. While a 10% improvement in performance might be small, the chip also optimizes its power consumption. Compared to the previous generation, the power consumption of this chip is reduced by about 15%.
According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, the partnership will provide a good boost to the company’s camera department. In 2016, the Huawei was the first Chinese brand to partner with Leica. Likewise, Oppo and OnePlus are partners with Hasselblad, while Vivo is with Zeiss.
